What to expect in year 2009

Happy New Year!!!

The door of year 2008 has closed, the entrance of year 2009 seems dark (with the world recession and politic chaos) but still it is a fresh new beginning for us to explore, to set our resolutions and try to achieve them.

Looking back at year 2008, I did not achieve much, did not do much, did not learn much and am definitely not happy about it. I was practically idle for the first half of the year, not studying, not working, not learning. Just stayed at home and became an overweight couch potato. My second half of the year was a little better. I found a job in a small-size audit firm. Met some new people, did well at work but not good enough. Other than that, it had been a monotonous, simple and boring year for me.

Well, no matter how bad or how good year 2008 was, it is over. We can't turn back time, so lets ring out the old and ring in the new. Here goes my new list of resolutions to achieve :-

1. Lose weight. I weigh a whopping 70kg for my height of 164cm. Not obese but definitely overweight. I hope to lose at least 20kg by the first half of year 2009.

2. Get a degree. Yes, I am already in my early twenties, yet I am still struggling to arm myself with a degree to secure a better-paying job.

3. Learn a language. I have always wanted to learn French or Japanese but being a procrastinator, I have yet to sign up for one.

4. Prepare myself (physically and attitude-wise) to ace myself a position in an international airline as a cabin crew. It is my dream to explore the world and meet people from all walks of life.

5. Stay positive and motivated even though people around me are at logger-heads (especially over really trivial matters). I always try to remain cheerful and positive but whenever the people that I care and love a lot argues, my emotions will be immediately affected. One negative thought will lead to many other problems.

6. Last but not least, discipline myself to keep my resolutions, achieve my goals and live a fulfilled life with no regrets.

Got to pen off now. A packet of Ruffles potato chips and a great movie is waiting for me. (Did somebody mention about losing weight and discipline earlier? Well, resolutions are meant to be broken, aren't they?)

PS : I take my resolutions seriously and this will be my last packet of potato chips till I achieve my ideal weight.

Mich, Welcome to the World of Blogging

Hello people from around the world! Welcome to Mich's Monologue! ;D I initially wanted to launch this blog page on 1st January 2009 but I can wait no more. I used to blog very often but my previous blog page was somehow intruded and I was too lazy to upload pictures, therefore that blog was neglected. I am starting afresh here because I choose to forget the past and look forward to a bright future full of hope.

Mich's Monologue is sort of my online diary and I believe it's much safer to pen down my life's stories online. I used to keep a typical, hard-copy diary but one fine day, a cousin of mine whom I trusted and loved very much managed to lay her hands on my diary which was safely kept in a locked drawer. After that, my secrets were not secrets anymore. My parents interrogated me on some of my entries and I was honestly very pissed off with what my cousin did at that time. Due to anger, I tore and threw away the diary. From then onwards, my joys and sorrows were all buried in my heart. Then in my teen years, I had a really huge crush on an Asian celebrity who blogs often. In order to post comments on his blog, I need to be a blog member myself. Therefore, I started blogging and never look back.

Merry Christmas!
