There is always tomorrow. I will start tomorrow. Today will be the last day. These phrases are so frequently used in my daily life, that it carries no meaning anymore. I use them frequently merely to 'encourage' myself to procrastinate.
For example, I wanted to self-learn a foreign language in order to help me secure my dream job but I never start. Why? Because I will do it tomorrow. I wanted to start exercising but never actually did. Why? Because I 'promise' to do it tomorrow. I am going to start revising for my exam but then again, it did not happen yet. Why? Because today will be the last day I indulge in my leisure activities. Tomorrow will be books, books and books only.
I tend to procrastinate so much, I realise I have wasted so much time in my life. Cooking up excuses for myself; planning my schedule for tomorrow but when tomorrow comes, nothing goes as planned. So yeah, I am going to try to actually start something. It's always the first step that's difficult. Once you take the first big step, everything will go accordingly.
It's the same with our environment. We are all so familiar and aware with 'Save Earth', 'Save our Planet', global-warming etc but did we really play our role as inhabitants of this planet? Did we really carry out our responsibility to try to 'prolong the life span of our planet'? Earth Hour is going to take place on 28th March 2009 at 8.30pm till 9.30 Malaysia time. All we need to do is to switch off our lights and try to minimise the consumptions of energy for an hour. Yet some people find it ridiculous and unnecessary. Yes, it might only be an hour and is definitely not enough to save the planet but after so many decades of taking our planet for granted, it is time for us to appreciate it. We, earthlings should take Earth Hour as a stepping stone to love our planet before it's too late.
